To much surprise, March’s movie list is full of 2024’s most anticipated films, which makes this time even more thrilling for us moviegoers. So, if you are like me and are curious to see what’s coming in theaters this March, keep reading as I craft a list consisting of the impending movie theater debuts. Here are the biggest movie theater releases arriving this March:

Starting the list off strong is award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film “Dune: Part 2.” This movie continues Paul’s (Timothee Chalamet) journey as he teams up with Chani (Zendaya) and the Freman in hopes of getting revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. However, upon joining the tribe, he must face the difficult decision of choosing between the love of his life and the fate of the universe as he strives to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. From Villeneuve’s incredible cinematography to the star-studded cast of Chalamet, Zendaya and Austin Butler, you can’t help but be excited about what the sequel film has in store for us.

“Love Lies Bleeding”

When “Love Lies Bleeding” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year, many film critics were raving about the piece, which made moviegoers even more excited for the film’s release. The film follows a reclusive gym manager, Lou (Kristen Stewart), who falls hard for Jackie (Katy O’Brian), an ambitious bodybuilder who is on her way to Vegas to pursue her dreams. However, their love begins to rift as they are both pulled into the dark web of Lou’s criminal family. Based on the audience’s comments, this movie will be full of surprises as it takes you on a wild ride through its 80s-inspired queer romance thriller story.

“Love Lies Bleeding” will premiere in theaters on March 8.

“Kung Fu Panda 4”

After an eight-year-long hiatus, the hilarious and fierce “Kung Fu Panda” saga is returning to the big screen, and we can’t wait to see how Po’s new adventure unfolds. This film follows Po (Jack Black), who is attempting to find his path toward becoming the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. However, standing in his way is a fearsome villain, The Chameleon (Viola Davis), who plans to use her powers to embody Po’s greatest foes and destroy the Dragon Warrior once and for all. On a mission to defeat the threatening villain, Po heads to the Big City, where he runs into a clever fox named Zhen (Awkwafina), whom he begins to train to become the new Dragon Warrior. From the film’s first looks, “Kung Fu Panda 4’s” plot seems like it will live up to viewers’ expectations. It promises to perfectly balance a new and refreshing storyline for Po while simultaneously keeping all the film’s captivating qualities, including the return of the charming cast and an undeniably playful brand of humor.

“Kung Fu Panda 4” will be released in theaters on March 8.

“Imaginary”

There are many new and recurring horror movies releasing this year, so of course, we had to include one of the most anticipated supernatural horror films, “Imaginary,” on this list. The film follows Jessica (DeWanda Wise) who moves back into her childhood home with her family. However, moving back takes an eerie turn as her youngest stepdaughter, Alice (Pyper Braun), develops a strange attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey, whom she finds in the basement. As Alice’s unusual behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica tries to intervene, but she unfortunately realizes Chauncey is much more than a stuffed animal. Based on the official trailer, this film seems like it will be a spine-chilling experience as it pulls inspiration from the horror movie classic “Poltergeist.”

“Imaginary” will be released on March 8.

“Problemista”

If you were a fan of the HBO series “Los Espookys,” we have the perfect film for you as the co-creator of the show, Julio Torres, will be starring and directing in the upcoming A24 film “Problemista.” This movie centers around Alejandro (Torres), an aspiring toy designer from El Salvador, struggling to bring his unusual ideas to life in New York City. As time on his work visa is quickly dwindling, a job assisting an erratic art-world outcast becomes his only hope to stay in the country and achieve his dreams. So, if you are still devastated about the unexpected cancellation of “Los Espookys,” this film seems to be a great watch as it tells a whimsical yet thought-provoking story about the U.S. Immigration system.

“Problemista” will be released in theaters on March 14.
