Seth Rogen Movies: His Best 12 Films Ranked

38 years ago, Seth Rogen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. Since then the actor, writer, director and producer has been a part of the cast and crew of over one-hundred films. Let’s take a look at some of his best work over the years and see how they compare.

12. Zack and Miri Make a Porno

In this 2008 film, Seth plays Zack, Miri’s (Elizabeth Banks) best friend. I won’t give too much of the film away for those who haven’t seen it, but it is about two friends making a porno to pay for their rent and of course drama and hilarity follows. Zack and Miri Make a Porno is available to stream on Netflix.

11. The Guilt Trip

A must watch for every Jewish mother and son out there, The Guilt Trip stars Seth alongside Barbara Streisand as his mother while they take a roadtrip across the county. These two incredible comics make one perfect duo — they even make it believable they are real-life mother and son.The Guilt Trip is available to stream on Hulu.

10. Pineapple Express

According to this memorable movie, no bond is stronger than a man and his marajuana dealer. Pineapple Express follows a man named Dale (Seth Rogen) and his drug dealer (James Franco) after Dale becomes a witness in an unexpected murder. Rogen co-wrote this epic adventure with his friend Evan Goldberg. Pineapple Express is available to stream on Netflix.

9. Knocked Up

Knocked Up is one of Rogen’s earliest ventures; the actor was just 25 when the film came out. After his incredible performance as Ben, Alison’s (Katherine Heigl) accidental baby daddy, his career in Hollywood took off like a rocket. Knocked Up is available to stream on Hulu.

8. This is the End

In what is probably Rogen’s most hyperbolic film, Seth attends a party at his good pal James Franco’s house on the same night a major earthquake strikes Los Angeles — but this isn’t just any earthquake, it’s the start of the apocalypse. This dark-comedy film features appearances from Jay Baruchal, Emma Watson, Mindy Kaling, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Danny Mcbride, Rihanna and more. This is the End is available to rent on Amazon Prime.

7. The Night Before

This film is a favorite because not only is it another hilarious Seth Rogen film, but it is also a Christmas movie. In The Night Before three childhood friends Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) meet up in New York City to have one epic Christmas Eve. The Night Before is available to stream on Netflix.

6.  Good Boys

Although Rogen did not appear in Good Boys himself, he was the executive producer for this uncensored coming-of-age film about three 11-year-old boys who get invited to a boy-girl party. Throughout the film, the boys are exposed to drugs, alcohol and sex all for the very first time. Good Boys is available to stream on HBO Max and Hulu.

5. Superbad

Superbad — written by Seth Rogen himself — is a coming-of-age classic about a group of outcast teens trying to win over the girls they are crushing on with a fun night of partying. This film is jam packed with comedic legends like Jonah Hill, Micheal Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Bill Hadar and Joe Lo Truglio. Superbad is available to stream on Netflix and Hulu.

4. The Interview

The Interview is yet another one of Seth’s joint ventures with Franco. In this satirical comedy, two low-grade reporters get invited to visit North Korea by dictator Kim Jun-un (Randall Park). Upon their decision to accept the invite, the CIA recruits them to assassinate the Katy Perry loving dictator. The Interview is available to stream on Hulu.

3. Neighbors

In this laugh-out-loud comedy, Rogen plays Mac Radner, a young dad who recently bought a house in the suburbs with his wife Kelly (Rose Burns). Everything is going great for the new parents until the Delta Psi Beta fraternity moves in next door. What starts out as a cordial almost friendship between Mac and the frat brothers quickly turns into war after Pete (Dave Franco) and Teddy (Zac Efron) disregard Mac’s request to keep the partying to a minimum. Neighbors is available to rent on Amazon Prime.

2. Sausage Party

Only Seth Rogen is capable of making a film about personified grocery store items this good. The film about a hot dog and hot dog bun falling love includes a stacked cast featuring Kristin Wiig, Micheal Cera, Selma Hayek, Jonah Hill and Anders Holm. Sausage Party is available to rent on Amazon Prime.

1. Long Shot

Long Shot, which premiered in 2019, is arguably Rogen’s most sophisticated venture yet. This epic dramedy following former-journalist Fred Flarsky as he becomes the Vice President’s head writer includes political commentary, romance and endless Seth signature humor. Plus, the writer and producer has great on-screen chemistry with his co-star Charlize Theron. Long Shot is available to stream on Hulu.
