Netflix Releases ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 3 Title Teasers

*contains spoilers.

With time, fans of the superhero Hargreaves siblings will no longer have to wait as showrunner Steve Blackman continues to tease “The Umbrella Academy” season 3.

The Netflix original series follows seven adoptees of a famous scientist and inventor who all develop supernatural abilities. They are rigorously trained and made into a sensational crime-fighting supergroup known as “The Umbrella Academy.” The group slowly disbands as they get older, then 20 years later is forced to face extraordinary circumstances together when they learn that the end of the world is near.

The show premiered on Feb. 15, 2019, and just within the first month, had over 45 million streams, high praise from critics and renewal for season 2. The second season premiered July 31, 2021, and was renewed for season 3 in November of 2021.

To recap, in the season 2 finale, the group successfully manages to prevent the end of the world (again!). They return from the 60’s to the present day safely and without any immediate concern of another apocalypse. However, they quickly come to realize some differences in their childhood home, the biggest being their deceased father Reginald Hargreaves (Colm Feore) and brother Ben (Justin H. Min) are alive in this timeline. And Hargreaves has created “The Sparrow Academy” instead with Ben and other members, leaving the group and viewers to wonder both what they did and what comes next.

Like many shows and films over the past year, “The Umbrella Academy ” halted production due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. However, since the announcement of season 3, Netflix and Blackman have kept fans on their toes with the most recent announcement of the next 10 episodes.

The titles are as follows: “Meet the Family,” “World’s Biggest Ball of Twine,” “Pocket Full of Lightning,” “Kugelblitz,” “Kindest Cut,” “Marigold,” “Auf Wiedersehen,” “Wedding at the End of the World,” “Six Bells” and “Oblivion.”

Fans have briefly “met the family” as they were introduced to the new string of cast members for “The Sparrow Academy” via the show’s official Instagram. The post shows Ben expected to return and the six other members including an “existential dread inducing psykronium cube.”

Many fans wonder about the significance of the German titled episodes, the complications due to the time anomalies and the very possible apocalypse that has formed because of it.

This comic-based sci-fi, superhero blend continues to excite audiences with its creative cinematography, beautiful soundtrack, charismatic and relatable characters and unpredictable yet engaging story. Production for the newest season began this year in February, so the show’s return will most likely be sometime at the beginning of next year.
