Jump Into 2023 Thinking of These New Shows

The new year calls for new content. Rather than jumping into the new year to escape the problems of the past, look forward to 2023’s latest television shows. Make sure to include watching these shows in your New Year’s resolutions.

“Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches”

AMC’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel “Interview with a Vampire” walked so the “Mayfair Witches” adaptation could run. This supernatural thriller follows Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario) who discovers that she comes from a family of witches. If you enjoy magical stories full of twists and turns, tune into this one. You can watch the trailer here.

“The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House”

This slice-of-life show follows Kiyo (Nana Mori), a Makanai – food server – and Sumire (Natsuki Deguchi), a maiko – apprentice geisha – who go to the district of Kyoto to live their dreams. Watch this show to experience the heartful story of two friends trying to achieve their goals together. You can watch the trailer here.

“The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House” will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 12.

“The Last of Us”

The television adaptation of the apocalypse-set video game “The Last of Us” follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) who is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of the oppressive quarantine zone. Even if you are not a fan of the video game, the prospective character bonds and development in this post-civilization world seen in the trailer could bring in viewers. “The Last of Us” will premiere on HBO Max on Jan. 15.

“That 90’s Show”

The sequel series to the sitcom “That 70’s Show” follows Leia Foreman (Callie Haverda) spending the summer with her grandparents, Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith). Make sure to tune in if you want nostalgia from the original show and the 90s. The show could still be great for viewers that have not seen the original show, and who are just looking for a good comedic time. You can watch the trailer here.

“That 90’s Show” will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 19.

“The Company You Keep”

Romance, drama and thrilling action collide in this show which follows con man Charlie (Milo Ventimiglia) and CIA Agent Emma (Catherine Haena Kim) whose paths collide after a night of passion. For those of you that enjoy a little romance in your crime dramas, make sure to tune into this show when it airs. There is no trailer for the show yet but you can read more about it here.

“The Company You Keep” premieres on ABC on Feb. 19.

These new shows sound exciting to watch. As a sucker for supernatural content, “Mayfair Witches” is right up my alley. And between the cast and passion-filled plot, “The Company You Keep” sounds like a wild ride. Watch a couple of these shows and more if you want to fill the new year with joy. Each show has an exciting concept, a great cast and tons of fan anticipation. The selection of shows coming out spells out success coming to the television industry soon.
