Summer is when many people take time off of work or school for a bit of relaxation. I can’t imagine a better way to debrief from school or work than to binge-watch your favorite TV shows or catch the latest series.
Many summer releases are coming your way this year across all streaming platforms. To help prepare you for what shows to watch this summer, here are the most anticipated TV series arriving soon:
1.“Never Have I Ever” Season 4

After “Never Have I Ever” fans binged-watched season three to discover if Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) finally chose between Ben (Jaren Lewison) or Paxton (Darren Barnet), they found themselves in the midst of yet another romantic cliffhanger.
The series left off with Devi making two decisions: to stay in Sherman Oaks with her family and friends and lose her virginity to her enemy, yet possible soulmate, Ben. However, the season ended with Devi knocking on Ben’s door and the two smiling after Devi showed Ben a piece of paper saying “one free boink” that Ben had previously given her.
For the final season of “Never Have I Ever,” the show will follow Devi’s high school senior year and revolve around prom, graduation and of course, romance. In the official trailer, fans got a glimpse of possible new romantic interests for Devi, such as Ethan (Michael Cimino), a skater and new student at Sherman Oaks High as well as old romantic interests like Ben and the return of Paxton (even though he graduated high school already).
Season 4 of “Never Have I Ever” will be released on June 8. In the meantime, viewers can watch all three previous seasons of the show on Netflix.
2. “Crowded Room”

If you’ve been looking for a new psychological thriller to watch this summer, look no further because Apple TV+ is releasing a new series called “Crowded Room.”
This suspenseful thriller loosely takes inspiration from the 1981 nonfiction novel, “The Minds of Billy Milligan” which discusses Milligan’s life and his 24 different personalities. The series will follow the fictional Danny Sullivan (Tom Holland), a man whose life takes a dramatic turn after he is arrested for his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979. An investigator, Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried), tries to decipher if Danny committed the crime by hearing events that led up to the day of the shooting.
This show has a star-studded cast, with Tom Holland stepping out of the Marvel Universe and playing Danny Sullivan and the beloved star Amanda Seyfried playing Rya. Along with Holland and Seyfried, fans can expect to see Emmy Rossum, Sasha Lane, Emma Laird, Will Chase, Zachary Golinger and many more.
The first three episodes of the “Crowded Room” will debut on June 9, and will follow a weekly release every Friday on Apple TV+.
3. “The Bear” Season 2

We are heading back into the kitchen this summer for “The Bear” season 2.
This show follows a young chef from the world of fine dining named Carmy (Jeremy Allen White). He returns home to Chicago to run his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop after the death of his older brother left behind debts, a rundown kitchen and an unruly staff.
Although Hulu has yet to announce what the new season will be about, co-showrunner Joanna Calo shared a glimpse of the new season in an interview with Variety.
“Season two will hone in on hospitality, taking care of others, and making the cast’s lives a bit bigger. At the center, Carmy will still be reeling from his brother’s death and his own demons in the sophomore season, too,” Calo told Variety.
The good news is that everybody from the first season will be returning. The main cast includes Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Edwin Lee Gibson and Corey Hendrix. The second season will also have new characters played by the likes of Bob Odenkirk, who will be a guest star, and Molly Gordon, whose role has yet to be announced.
All 10 episodes of “The Bear” season two will be available to watch on June 22 on Hulu.
4. “The Afterparty” Season 2

If you’ve been missing a whodunit murder mystery series, don’t fret because the Apple TV+ series “The Afterparty” is releasing a new season this summer.
This series combines a comedic narrative with a whodunit mystery to create both a funny and suspenseful story as viewers try to guess who committed the murder. Each season explores a new murder case, with the lead investigator remaining the same and each witness/suspect telling their perspective on the incident.
Apple TV+ has kept most of the plot details under wraps for now. However, we know that season 2 will occur at a wedding where every guest is a suspect. Season one’s lead, Detective Danner, played by Tiffany Haddish, and Zoe Chao and Sam Richardson, who play high school friends, will reprise their roles. The new party guests joining the returning cast are Ken Jeong, John Cho, Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall and Vivian Wu.
The first two episodes of “The Afterparty” will premiere on July 12 on Apple TV+ with new episodes premiering every Wednesday through Sept. 6.
5. “Minx” Season 2

“Minx” is back in business! This series was initially canceled by HBO Max back in Dec. 2022. However, Starz picked up the show and has finally announced the release date for “Minx’s” new season.
The series left off with Doug (Jake Johnson) swinging by Joyce’s place and apologizing for making their business partnership an ugly mess and hoping he and Joyce could fix Minx’s problem together, as partners. However, Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond) hints that she wants to try working on the publication solo. This results in Doug handing over complete creative control of the Minx magazine to Joyce since he doesn’t want to work on the magazine without her.
Starz has yet to announce what the new season will entail. So, it is anyone’s guess where the series will go. Will Joyce go back to Doug to have a fresh start working on Minx together as partners? Or will she produce the Minx magazine on her own? We will have to wait and see.
“Minx” season two premieres on July 21 at Starz.
